Seattle Chimney Advisor is a neutral guide to the companies that work on Puget Sound chimneys — built for the homeowner doing the hiring, not for the companies being hired.
What this is
A directory sends you to whoever paid to be listed. A review site averages a star rating and calls it a day. We do neither. We take the boring, checkable facts — is the licence active, are prices published, what does the public complaint record say — and hold every company to the same eight measures, weights fixed in advance.
What we refuse to do
No pay-to-rank. A company cannot buy a higher score or a better spot. The order is the numbers, nothing else — which is why the top of this page can look different from the top of a Google search, where the first results are often just paid ads.
Nothing here is for sale.We don't sell your details, run lead auctions, or take a fee to be included. Every company in the market is eligible on the same terms.
The disclosure
Some of the companies we rank are operated by our partners. We tell you which — a note sits on their profile and in the footer of every page — and it changes nothingin how they're scored: the same barème, the same public records, the same maths. If a company we don't own scores higher, it ranks higher. That's the whole point, and it's the only way the comparison is worth anything.
Seattle Chimney Advisor rates companies from public records using a fixed, published methodology applied identically to every company. Some listed companies have a business relationship with the publisher; this is disclosed and has no effect on the scoring formula. Seattle, WA · Data refreshed daily.
Where the numbers come from
Google Business Profiles, company websites, the Better Business Bureau, and Washington State L&I's public contractor records — the last of which you can check yourself, live. The data refreshes on a schedule, and every figure on a company's profile carries a dated link to where it came from.
